A former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, have been accused of collecting money from aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Imo State, to guarantee them victory at the party’s primaries.

In an article authored by a certain Dr. Jude Ibejiakor and circulated on some WhatsApp groups by Mr Ik Ogbonna, a former media aide to former governor Rochas Okorocha and former Okigwe zone Senator, Ifeanyi Araraume, with a caption which reads, “WHY EMEKA IHEDIOHA IS THE CHIEF ELECTORAL HIJACKER IN IMO PDP” the author claimed Ihedioha attempted to subvert the party primaries victories of former Reps Members Jones Onyeriri and Obinna Onwubuariri as well as that of Ikenna Elezianya and Emmanuel Okewulonu, after collecting millions.

Ihedioha’s supporters have been engaged in a media war with supporters of the National Secretary of the PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu SamDaddy.

The article copied from a WhatsApp group as it was shared, reads as follows:

“There is nothing greed, selfishness and wickedness cannot cause. A situation where a person is carrying an elephant on his head and still struggle to capture a bird calls for pity!

“During the PDP’s 2015, 2019 and 2022 primaries in Imo state, so many things happened but as stakeholders of the party, we decided to allow a sleeping dog lie.

“Let me start from Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency where Hon Emeka Chinedu is the candidate. No one knows what he passed through to grab the ticket.

“Without sounding immodest or trying to malign anyone, Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency would have witnessed serious havoc in the selection of candidate, but what pacified the whole crisis was the N60 million bride our brother, Chief Emeka Ihedioha collected.

“He collected the money, promising to share it amongst the leaders in the Constituency, regrettably, our so called leader, Ihedioha ended up diverting the money to personal use.

“For Distinguished Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi, luck was not on his side. This was also when Emeka Ihedioha succeeded in duping him hundreds of millions with the assurance of delivering him against, Hon Uche Onyeaguocha, our so called leader, left him to his fate.

“He promised Senator Onyewuchi victory in the exercise after collecting huge money as usual from Hon Onyeaguacha. His intention was to jam the two heads together and expect loyalty from either of the two; the rest remains history.

“For Rt Hon Jones Onyeriri, he has remained a child of grace who grabs anything he wishes miraculously irrespective of any stumbling block against his way.

“Our so called leader, Emeka Ihedioha is still furious up till today that Hon Onyeriri won the Orlu Senatorial ticket. This is contrary to his imagination that either “Ogbaturu Enyi” or Alagbaoso would clinch the ticket after collection N55 million and N50 million respectively from the two political mavericks.

“This is why up till today, Emeka Ihedioha is still sending people and paying Lawyers to subvert the mandate meritoriously won by Hon Onyeriri.

“For Owerri Federal Constituency seat, our so called leader, Emeka Ihedioha did everything possible to foist his friend and ex banker, Mr Kelechi Nzewuihe against the people’s will. This is after our so called leader, Emeka Ihedioha collected N40 million from him with the full assurance of delivering him. What a divisive and dubious leader Imo PDP has!

“His selfish efforts were resisted hence the emergence of Hon Ikenna Elezianya, who the people of the federal constituency are doing their best to re-elect due to his sterling and verifiable leadership achievements since he assumed office in 2019.

“Coming to Okigwe Senatorial seat, our so called leader, Emeka Ihedioha vowed that Chief Emmanuel Okewulonu would not return back as the candidate of PDP in the Zone after his previous outing.

“As revealed by one of the leaders of PDP in Okigwe Zone, our so called leader directed that Hon Ifeanyi Araraume, Jnr be delivered after he collected N72 million from him.

“Further interaction with him revealed that Emeka Ihedioha had insisted on Araraume junior for the Senatorial ticket in order to stop or discourage his father, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume (Snr) from running the 2023 Governorship election under PDP.

“Until Ifeanyi Araraume, Jnr defected to Labour Party, Ihedioha was still restive and unperturbed to subvert the mandate meritoriously secured by Emmanuel Okewulonu.

“The story of Hon Obinna Onwubuariri is pathetic and pitiable. In his case, our so called leader, Emeka Ihedioha had struggled to compensate his long time girl friend, Mrs. Ibekwe with the ticket.

“As a dogged and strong fighter, Hon Onwubuariri fought with the last drop of his blood and defeated both our lover boy, Ihedioha and his girl friend.

“The most painful part of it is that, when some of these victims asked him what happened, our so called leader, Emeka Ihedioha arrogantly told them that the monies were for his re-election bid in 2023.

“Recall, in 2015, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume defeated Emeka Ihedioha in the PDP Governorship primaries, but due to his dubious rigging styles, he joined the bandwagon and subverted Araraume’s victory.

“In 2015, the then Imo PDP party Chairman, Nnamdi Anyaeihe criminally manufactured votes which he added against Ararume which made Emeka to win. While in 2019, he applied similar style and restlessly added over 400 illegal votes through ballot stuffing using the delegates from the 4 LGAs of mbaise and Ngor Okpala.

“Up till now, Emeka Ihedioha’s relationship with Nnamdi Anyaehie, the then PDP Chairman that aided his emergence in the 2015 PDP Guber candidate is still intact, and he has continued to receive millions on monthly basis from his bosom friend.

“The same thing was witnessed in the 2018 PDP Governorship primaries, Senator SamDaddy Anyanwu defeated him with wide margin, but as a desperate political merchant, he joined other criminals like him and subverted his victory.

“This is how the hijacking of PDP electoral processes in the state had happened with Emeka Ihedioha featuring prominently.”
