■Yes, Government Has Made Appreciable Progress In Two Years

The Executive Govenror of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma had concluded plans, to build housing estates across the three Senatorial districts of the state.

Uzodinma revealed that his administration was also building a housing estate for civil servants in the state, offering them a mortgage plan to enable them pay for the houses.

“We have concluded arrangements Housing programme to provide affordable shelter for majority of Imo people under Public Private Partnership Arrangement (PPPA),” Uzodinma stated. “The housing estate will be sited in the three senatorial zone of Okigwe, Owerri and Orlu. To this end, we have acquired land and necessary designs have been concluded for the project.

“We are designing an estate for Imo workers under a mortgage arrangement. We believe that providing such a mortgage will save our workers the agony of retiring from service without a home of their own”, said the Governor during the 6th stakeholders meeting.”

The programme when completed, would afford low income earners in the state, especially civil servants who may not be able to afford buying houses of their own, an opportunity to own their own houses.

A civil servant VerbatimNews spoke to about the development has this to say, “Uzodinma has shown commitment to bettering the lives of civil servants in the state. Are we talking about the full salary we receive, or the 13th month? He is doing very well. If he gives us the opportunity to own our own homes, Uzodinma will by far, be the best govenror of Imo State. I just pray that greedy politicans who can never have enough of everything, won’t try to hijack the houses from us.”
