According to unconfirmed sources, the ousted House of Assembly member representing Ngor Okpala LGA, Tochi Okereke may be in custody of one of the Asian countries, allegedly for illicit drug related transactions.

Recall that Okereke’s seat was declared vacant by the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chidi Ibe, for being absent from House proceedings for over a year.

There have not been any formal appeal from him contesting the decision by the State Assembly, strengthening the belief that he might be in trouble abroad as rumoured.

Tochi Okereke who won the election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, is a distant relative to the former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha.

VerbatimNews will keep following the situation to get accurate information about his whereabouts and possible safety.
