The current state of insecurity in Imo State, may have put brakes on the probes that has been launched by the Senator Hope Uzodinma administration, against the past administration of former governor of Imo State, and Senator representing Orlu zone, Senator Rochas Okorocha.
Before the recent activities of unknown gunmen, that have put the state in chaos and tension, the probe of the former governor was the most trending news in the state.
Recall that a judicial panel of enquiry on land use in the state, had come up with a report, indicting Okorocha, his family members, as well as his political associates, of balkanizing and sharing state owned lands amongst themselves.
Okorocha’s wife hotel, the Royal Spring Palm Hotels, as well as Okorocha’s private university, Eastern Palm University, were taken over by agents of the state government, at the orders of Senator Hope Uzodinma.
Okorocha’s attempt to break into his wife’s hotel after it was sealed, got him arrested by the Nigeria Police, at the orders of Senator Hope Uzodinma.
Okorocha would be arrested yet again by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC, and taken to their office in Abuja, where he was grilled for days.
The JUSUN strike, is said to have hindered his arraignment, but with the recent spate of insecurity and unrest, especially in Imo State, Okorocha may not be seeing the inside of an interrogation room, or a court room anytime soon, in respect of his stewardship as govenror of Imo State.
Okorocha, who yesterday called on President Muhammadu Buhari, to change his style of leadership, stressing that many Nigerians do not like his leadership, has severally declared his interest to contest for the presidency of the nation.
He had linked the probes against him, to his presidential ambition, and have gotten the govenror of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, on his side, sparking insinuations, that he might be considering dumping the All Progressives Congress APC, for the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
