Uche Nwosu set to sack Uzodinma and become third governor of Imo State in one year

1

With the legal drama playing out against the embattled govenror of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma may likely face the same fate he put Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha through, if the suits being filed against him goes against him.

Kingdom Opera of RAP, a now delisted political party, had approached an Abuja High Court, to interpret the Supreme Court judgment that disqualified Uche Nwosu, son inlaw to former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, as legible to contest in the 2019 governorship elections in Imo State.

The Supreme Court had ruled that Uche Nwosu, was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, as well as the Action Alliance AA, in Imo State and as such, held dual candidacy.

Kingdom Okere’s move seemed to be to return Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, to Douglas House, by affirming that the Hope Uzodinma was not the APC candidate, and Uche Nwosu who was the candidate of both APC and AA was disqualified, making Ihedioha who by the January Supreme Court verdict, the second runner-up, as the winner.

However, in a new twist, the Imo State Chapter of the Action Alliance are claiming that Uche Nwosu did not conduct any primaries in the party, but was adopted by the party after he won the APC ticket.

A party stalwart insisted that it was common for a party to adopt a candidate of another party, stating that it was the same with Uche Nwosu.

AA is heading to court with this argument, just as Ucje Nwosu has instructed his lawyers to join the RAP suit.

If the AA’s argument is paid heed, it thereby means that the results gendered by Gov Hope Uzodinma, including the ones he presented in court, which are results gotten by APC, will automatically transfer to Uche Nwosu along with the results he got from AA, making him the third governor of Imo State within one year.
