Senator Hope Uzodinma, have reacted to the call by the Imo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, for his resignation, accusing the party of Involvement in the security situation in the state.
Uzodinma was speaking through his Commissioner of Information, Mr. Declan Emelumba over a press statement credited to the PDP, over the insecurity in the state, insisting that the PDP’s reaction, was a case of self indictment, revealing the party as the real perpetrators and sponsors of insecurity in the state.
Emelumba, stated that he was concerned why the PDP, despite all that has been happening in the state, including the attack on the Federal Correctional Facility in Owerri, where over 1000 hardened criminals escaped, up to the recent security crisis in the state, remained mute about the situation.
Emelumba stated that the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, had never for condemned the actions of the perpetrators of all those acts, neither had the party called for peace in anyway and now suddenly making an insensible request.
Emelumba was of the view, that unfortunate happenings in the state was a script being played out, and the PDP believes it’s times to unveil themselves.
Emelumba then used the fora, to urge security agencies, not to wait for any further evidence, but to start arresting and prosecuting the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, as he accused the party of fuelling insecurity.
Emelumba further stated that the PDP had in several platforms, expressed their grievances wth the Supreme Court ruling that brought in Uzodinma, and promised to make the state ungovernable for Uzodinma.
Emelumba was of the view, that the recent happenings in the state was a clear manifestation of their plans to distabilise the state, which was escalated by the murder of Alhaji Ahmed Gulak.
Emelumba reassured Imo people, that Uzodinma was on top of the situation, to ensure the safety of lives and property of the people, which he swore an oath to protect.
