Imo 2019 Governorship Candidate joins APC

by Verbatim

Businessman and politician, Mr. Okey Ezeh has become the latest Imo politician, to join the Hope Uzodinma led All Progressives Congress APC, in Imo State.

Okey Ezeh, who contested the Governorship seat in 2015 under the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, and again in 2019, under under banner of the Social Democratic Party SDP, jumped ship to the ruling party.

This is coming as many politicians, especially from Mbaise, have been defecting to the APC in recent times.

In 2019, Ezeh and other aspirants of APGA, including former governor of Imo State, Dr Ikedi Ohakim, lost the party’s ticket in a most controversial manner, to Senator Ifeanyi Araraume.

Araraume will lead APGA to to ballot, while Ezeh like other former APGA aspirants such as Ohakim who joined Accord Party, joined SDP.

Araraume is currently embroiled in a bitter political battle with Senator Hope Uzodinma, while his former opponents in APGA, including Frank Nneji of ABC Transport, have joined forces with Uzodinma.
